Our mission is to connect players, storytellers, and worldbuilders into a living community where campaigns are shared, characters come alive, and an entire world grows through play.
The World of Elysal
At the heart of Poetic Goblin is Elysal — an open-source fantasy world spanning eight ages and thousands of years of history. Elysal isn't a static setting; it's a living tapestry woven by its community.
When you play a campaign and share it here, your stories become part of the Annals — a growing chronicle of Elysal's history. Every adventure adds a thread. Every character leaves a mark. The world is built by the players who inhabit it.

Elysal is designed to be open and community-driven. The lore, locations, and timeline serve as a shared foundation that any group can build upon. Run a campaign in the Verdant Reaches? Share it. Invent a new faction in the Iron Wastes? Write it into the Annals. Your table's stories become part of something bigger.
Annals contributions are shared under a Creative Commons (CC BY-SA 4.0) license — meaning anyone can read, share, and build upon them with credit. This keeps Elysal open and prevents any single person from locking away shared lore. See our Terms of Service for the full details.
